I am at a loss...with the Olympics at end whatever will I do...When in doubt, throw a FABULOUS party!!! And what better glam event than The Oscar...

I must confess, I love award shows and The Oscars are the Olympics of award shows. This year is looking to be a fantastic show, great movies nominated, fabulous stars walking the red carpet. Oh the pomp and circumstance, can’t wait...

    So here are a few ideas and tips to help your throw a Fabulous Oscar Party...

GUEST LIST- This by far is always my top priority with any party. Be sure to invite a collection of people that you actually “like”...Life is too short & we work too hard to spend time with people because we feel “we have too”...Invite people into your home that you enjoy and want to be around. This will add a vibe to your party that no food or decor could ever create.

SEATING- As we all know this show does go on...and on...and on...So be sure to have lot’s of comfortable seating, all with great views of the television. If you have the space be sure to set up a smaller set in the kitchen area as you don’t want to miss a minute of the action. FOOD & BEVI’s- Food wise, this is a long event, so be sure to spread out your servings. Lot’s of easy finger foods that are low maintenance for you, so your not stuck in the kitchen. Keep it simple, use what you have, a big vase makes a great punch bowl, or ice bucket...Be sure to offer a non-alcoholic beverage option. For some strange reason I have not yet figured out there are people who don’t drink alcohol. I am not one of them...The best thing to do is make a Fabulous punch and have your alcohol on the side to be added if desired...This will cut your work load and budget down a great deal. Leaving you more money for shoe shopping...

AND THE OSCAR GOES TO...- Play the game...everyone does and it’s fun. Make up a sheet with the top 8 or so categories and have everyone choose who they think will win...Put together a few fun and fabulous gift bags for the winner (or winners if their is a tie...be prepared). You can also have a fun spot for best and worst dressed.

BEST DRESSED- To Glam or not to Glam that is the question...Be sure to specify what the attire is for the evening. Red carpet formal or shag carpet casual. The most important thing to be comfortable in what you wear and have fun...I love the idea of Over the Top Glam so anything goes...Nothing like walking the red carpet in a Snuggie with a feather boa,tiara...and of course a killer pair of shoes...

The 82cnd Annual Academy  Awards will be held on Sunday March 7th 2010, at 8pm on ABC. Hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin it is sure to be a blast.

I have the pleasure of enjoying the evening as the Celebrity CocktailDeeva at Erica Ehm's Oscar soiree. A nice change from my usual position in my PJ's and stilettos on the couch. Here is my recipe for a fabulous Oscar Cocktail...This also can easily be made into a punch...

It’s Just Nice to be Nominated...Martini...with a slice of a bold face lie...

1.5 ounces Vodka
1 ounce Raspberry Liqueur
2 ounces Pink lemonade
1 ounce Cranberry Juice

Shake all ingredients well with ice and serve over ice...
Be sure to serve your guests responsibly and always have a designated driver...
