The weather was like it was made to order and the spectators were not disappointed. The big controversy this year was allowing the group Queers Against Israeli Apartheid (QuAIA) from marching in the parade by the Jewish community saying it was anti-Semitic, but the QuAIA supporters said when asked "it's about Free Speech" said Lawrence Pushee, and we should all encourage that. He went on to say "they don't want the truth to be told, they want to shut us down." Bernie Farber CEO of Canadian Jewish Congress CJC comments below.

Pushee added "Israel (zionist governemnt) does not allow Israeli people to marry Palestinians or allow Palestinians to drive on certain highways in Israel, but allows Jews to do so?"
On the flip side Bernie Farber (Ceo of the Canadian Jewish Congress CJC) said "they like to spin it anyway they can, but in fact Jews want their families to marry within their faith. As for the highway situation, there is suicide bombings going on in Israel and it is a way to separate Palestinians and Arabs from driving on highways for safety reasons, it has nothing to do with race."

I am neutral and have no opinion, but thought they came to CANADA to get away from the conflicts in their homeland, Pushee says "they came for monetary reasons."
The debate will rage on, but everything at the parade seemed peaceful, except one of the Israel protesters approached the QuAIA group with his signs and was turned away by the police.
Another QuAIA supporter said "why did Israel not condemn the Apartheid in South Africa?" Farber of CJC went on to say "it was many years ago and I cannot comment on what the government did. We had over 1000 marchers in the parade and had great support from the public, people live freely in Israel and we are one of the only states in the Arab community that support gay issues."

QuAIA

I do not know if anything these people say is true, but the fight must end, and thank goodness there were no incidents in the parade, it was a very joyful day on all fronts.
Billed as North America's and the World's largest Gay Pride Parade, people came to Toronto from all over to take part in the excitement and fun after last weekends G20 riots which has been put to rest, except for the conduct of the police on innocent protesters to be determined by an inquest, everyone hopes.

A good time was had by all ...

Daniel ... My take on the Parade.
