The 82nd Annual Academy Awards is one of, if the not the most, prestigious awards ceremony celebrated by the stars of the big screen. Each year we see blockbuster hits vying against lower-budget gems, and each year we anticipate and predict the outcomes. 2010 was no different.
Former husband and wife duo, James Cameron (Avatar) and Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker) experienced a bit of a competition, both being nominated for Best Director, and both producing entirely original pieces. Taking the prize and also being the first woman to ever do so, Bigelow stood among the best of the best and proved yet again that high grossing blockbusters aren’t guaranteed a top film nod from the Academy.
Toronto News 24 rang in the night in style. Attending an Oscar themed celebration, put on by notable Canadian tv personality Erica Ehm and the ‘Cocktail Deeva’ Dee Brun. The night was celebrated with delicious dishes, endless fruitful cocktails, and of course the ubiquitous walk down the red carpet.
