TORONTO - Toronto police published the recent results of their “March Break, March Safe Campaign”, which took place from March 14-20.

The pedestrian safety campaign, which targeted drivers, pedestrians, cyclists and transit users alike, averaged over 1,100 tickets a day.

Drivers were charged with 6,783 offences that included failure to yield to pedestrians, red−light, stop sign, speeding, turning and careless driving charges. Pedestrians were charged with 472 offences, including disobeying a red light, failure to use a crosswalk and failing to yield to vehicles when crossing. 1,046 parking offences were issued for intersection related and crosswalk/crossover offences.

Always room for improvement.
